Okay, so I haven't posted anything in forever. I drew this in about half an hour or so, and was a photo of me that I took.

I suddenly realize why people from the forums that I have been going to tell me that my knowledge of anatomy is weak because of my line work. It's clicked for me, and I think that maybe I have been going about it all wrong.

Instead of mass gesture, and scribble gesture, I should focus on contours and then shading. Leave as minimal lines I need to give out a stronger form of implied line and style, proving that I don't need many lines roughed over and over again to show that I can draw an arm or hand well.

I think that in my case now, is that less is more. Implied lines are now the confidence I need to show in my artwork to get into Character Animation into CalArts.

I also chose to use my own recently shot portrait from Photo Booth in my Mac as my first drawing to work on contour and go from there because I have seen Darkest-Crocus' () submission of drawing yourself in what you're currently wearing right now:

So in a way I'm killing two birds with one stone. I hope that I've gotten better, and can break the ice with some of the insecurities that I have had because I did not understand why people where telling me that I don't have any idea of what I do best.
